Falling Into Place

So Mom came back from the Philippines, and oddly enough… she was ready to kick us out. Lol, okay, not seriously but she did want me and Brandon to have our own place already. I had some things in the house arranged a certain way while she was gone. As soon as she came back, she put everything back to the way they were before she left. So now, the feng shui is off. So, yes, we need our own place indeed.

We started seriously house hunting instead of looking through Zillow. I reached out to a realtor back in March just to get things started but we weren’t seriously looking yet. So I recently reached back out to her, informing that we were ready. We found a few houses that had open houses but they weren’t up to par, and one of them that we really liked had an offer of all cash. No way we were going to be able to compete with that. We kept searching and found what we thought was “the one” - it was perfect - but someone offered a ridiculous amount over the asking price. Brandon and I felt a bit depressed after that, but I kept looking online and kept an eye out for the realtor’s new listing emails.

You know the saying “third time’s the charm”? This was it. I found a new listing via one of the emails from my realtor and I sent the link to Brandon to see what he thought. We might have passed over this listing previously because it was 1) over our budget and 2) had an HOA fee. But I told him to reconsider and luckily enough, there was an open house the day after I relooked at it. I went to the open house with my mom after letting my realtor know about it and asked if she was going to be able to come with. She wasn’t able to but she said to go ahead and see it and to let her know what I thought about it.

I loved it. And even though Brandon had work and couldn’t come to the open house, I knew he was going to like it. I texted him about it after we left the open house and he said, “add to cart and checkout”. (Our little joke lol.)

We put in an offer a little over the asking price, and… we got it. Finally.

So up until now, I’ve had to take a break from wedding planning. But everything seems to be falling into place. Oh, my gym sessions are going good, btw. My eating habits slightly changed to where I shrug off the “starving” feeling. (But let’s be real, it’s because I started playing Genshin Impact again.) And I got my first paycheck from this new job. Still waiting on my own cubicle though…

Gonna kick my feet back for now until we get the ball rolling on home inspection and whatnot.
